Who controls your information
GroupCore Ltd (company number 17002943) is the controller for personal information collected through Armchair Combat. Our registered office is 107 High Street, Thurnscoe, Rotherham, United Kingdom, S63 0QZ. Contact us at info@groupcore.co.uk.
What we collect and why
Playing the game
You can play without an account. Pilot names, progress, treasury, settings, cockpit layouts, trophies and replays are stored on your device using browser storage or desktop-application files. GroupCore does not receive that information through normal play.
Optional anonymous usage information
If you select “Allow anonymous usage”, the site creates a random identifier and sends limited events such as page views, time spent, browser-game starts, mission results, downloads and promotion interactions. We use this to understand reliability and improve the game. We do not collect precise location, advertising identifiers, the content of replays or names through this system.
Our lawful basis is your consent. Optional collection stays off until you choose it, and you can withdraw consent at any time through “Privacy choices” in the footer. Withdrawing stops future collection and removes the identifier from your browser.
Suggestions and bug reports
If you submit a report, we collect its category, title, message and any optional name, email address or screenshot. We use it to assess, respond to and improve the service. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in maintaining and developing the game; where you ask us to respond, it is also our legitimate interest in answering you. Do not include unnecessary personal or confidential information.
Security and server logs
Our hosting provider may process short-lived technical logs, including IP addresses and user-agent information, to deliver and secure the site. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in protecting the service and preventing abuse.
Sharing and international transfers
Information may be processed by service providers that host, protect or maintain this website under our instructions. We do not sell player information or share it for targeted advertising. If a provider processes information outside the United Kingdom, we will use an appropriate UK transfer safeguard where required. We may disclose information where lawfully required.
How long we keep it
- Aggregated usage totals and pseudonymous daily visitor hashes: up to 90 days.
- Suggestions and associated contact details or screenshots: normally up to 24 months after closure, unless needed longer to resolve a dispute or demonstrate rights in a submission.
- Security logs: according to our hosting provider's security and retention schedule.
Game information stored only on your device remains until you clear browser data, delete the desktop data or remove it through a game control.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to our use of your personal information, and to receive portable information. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful use. Email us to exercise a right. We may need enough information to identify the relevant report.
You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, but we would welcome the opportunity to address the issue first.
Children
The site is designed with high-privacy defaults and is intended for people aged 16 and over. Under-16s should use it with a parent or guardian and should not submit personal information independently. We do not use behavioural advertising, profiling or geolocation.
Changes
We will post material changes here and update the date shown above. If a change affects an existing consent choice, we will ask again where required.
